Course Description

This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to gather, organise and apply workplace information in the context of an organisation’s work processes and information management systems.

Overview of Assessment

Students must demonstrate an understanding of all elements of a particular competency to be deemed competent. Assessment methods have been designed to measure achievements of each competency in a flexible manner. Students are advised that they are likely to be asked to personally demonstrate their assessment work to their teacher to ensure that the relevant competency standards are being met. In addition to the assessments, formative feedback is provided to the students throughout the duration of the course.

This course will be delivered online and will include online activities, discussions, exercises, reading and reflection to develop competency including the underpinning skills and knowledge.


Assessment Tasks

Online Activities (20%)
Students will complete a series of online activities and discussions as outlined on the learning hub. These activities will be completed weekly and regular feedback will be provided by the teacher.  Exercises must be completed individually, and submitted electronically by the dates outlined in the Teaching Schedule.

Case Studies (30%)
Students will complete 3 online case studies which address all elements of competency. Case study details will be available on the learning hub 2 weeks prior to the due dates as outlined in the Teaching Schedule in this document. Exercises must be completed individually, and submitted electronically by the dates outlined in the Teaching Schedule.

Document Report (50%)
Students will complete and online document report which addresses all elements of competency. The report criteria guide is available on the RMIT Learning Hub from week 10. The report is to be completed individually and submitted electronically by the date outlined in the Teaching Schedule.
