Course Description

This course is designed to give students the skills and knowledge required to implement sound designs for audio-visual productions in the cultural industries. Implementation follows the development of sound design which is covered separately in the course Develop Sound Designs C6087DIGIT.
The course will further develop concepts and practices of sound design, which include audio-visual concepts, audio editing and post production treatments.
Note this guide provides details for both the C6087 & C6087DIGIT program versions of the unit. In  C6087DIGIT,  the course is deleivered in the local class name Sound 4.

Students should bring the following to studio sessions:
1 Data storage medium – EG 1tb external hard disk, with both Firewire 800 & USB 2.0 connections. Ideally an additional Firewire 400 connection would be an advantage.
One Firewire 800 > 800 cable
One Firewire 800 > 400 cable or adapter


Overview of Assessment

Assessment will include class based practical exercises and project work undertaken in the computer lab for submission.

summative assessment tasks.
