Overview of Assessment
Course assessment tasks include studio recording and mixing sessions with a written report on the recording process , impulse response recordings and an assignment involving advanced elastic audio processing.
Assessment Tasks
To demonstrate competency in this course you will need to complete the following assessment tasks to a satisfactory standard.
You will receive feedback on all assessments and where indicated, you will receive a grade. Graded assessment tasks will determine your final result for this course.
ASSESSMENT - GRADED
As part of a small recording group, students will complete at least two recordings of a commercial standard of at least three minutes in length.
Both songs must contain sung vocals and acoustic drums.
Due class 3.
As a group students must deliver a CD of both Studio Recordings with final artwork.
Individually Students must complete and hand in for submission a diary containing:
- A Session Planner for all recording sessions.
- details of all communications with artists, group members and studio manager
- details of recording sessions
- group and self evaluation
UNGRADED ASSESSMENT
Students will be required to minimise their session/audio files with the consolidation command for simulated delivery to an overseas Producer /Mix engineer.
This will be completed by week 16 of semester and will be assessed in class for DAE 2.

You must submit all pieces of assessment in order for your competency to be assessed in this course.
