Course Description
This course describes the knowledge and skills required to establish new programs or services, lead organisation restructure and develop new structures and systems. The skills described in this course may be applied across a range of community services workplace contexts.

Details of Learning Activities
As the NDIS is rolled out around Australia client support requirements and staff practices and methods will change and adapt to match the preferences and needs of people with disabilities. Staff will need to be capable of working across agencies and sectors. You will participate in workshop discussions, presentations and group activities focuses on the knowledge and skills required to establish new programs or services, lead organisation restructure and develop new structures and systems. There will be planned professional discussions with the teaching team undertaken in your workplace so that you can provide direct workplace evidence of your roles, responsibilities and work practices as they align with the requirements of the units and the program as a whole.

These will include your own workplace policy and practice documentation, federal, state and local government legislation and regulatory frameworks and websites, and websites for local, national and international organisations and universities.
GUSS Skills Central (http://Gussskillscentral.edu.au/) is a site developed specifically for students in the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies at RMIT. It provides links to a range of resources for supporting student work on assessments and negotiating university studies more generally.
Overview of Assessment
Assessment may include observations, questioning and evidence gathered from the workplace. In cases where the learner does not have the opportunity to cover all relevant aspects in the work environment, the remainder should be assessed through realistic simulations, projects, previous relevant experience or oral questioning on ’What if?’ scenarios.
Assessment Tasks
There will be two assessment tasks for this course.
1. The first assessment task relates to your project that you started in 2014 and you are required to complete a community grant application with your work group from your project. Time in class will be allocated to this task
2. Questions and Answers that you need to complete in relation to the finances, accounts and resources of an organisation.
