IT system development

For out of the ordinary jobs – big and small

IT system development

In some cases, our standard range of IT services and additional options won’t meet all of your needs. That’s when you may require a custom built system development or enhancement.

It might be just a minor job that needs scoping out, scheduling and testing. Or it could be a complex, high cost build that requires comprehensive planning, full project management and inclusion in the annual IT program of work.

Whatever the job size, our IT professionals can help. They handle the planning and implementation of all IT system work for RMIT staff and researchers internationally. They’ll work out whether it’s a major or minor system development and provide you with access to the right people to make it happen.

Project managers, business analysts, IT architects, developers, testers and subject experts – we’ll assemble a customised team that will work with you to get the job done.

Major works

Here’s what you get:

  • access to a range of IT professionals
  • a tailored engagement, specific to your requirements
  • practical tools, templates, methods and best practices
  • visibility and prioritisation on the annual IT program of work
  • business case preparation
  • project plan delivery
  • managed implementation.

Please note:

Maintaining the good health and currency of our systems is part of our standard service and doesn’t require a request to be submitted.

All major work requests are subject to an annual prioritisation and investment planning process for inclusion in the IT program of work. All program work will require the preparation and approval of project initiation documentation.

Any changes to the approved IT program of work will require approval by the ICT Strategy Committee.

Minor works

  • a tailored engagement, specific to your requirements
  • practical tools, templates, methods and best practices
  • project plan delivery
  • managed implementation.

Please note:

Maintaining the good health and currency of our systems is part of our standard service and doesn’t require a request to be submitted.

All minor work requests are subject to prioritisation and new requests will be reviewed monthly. If your request is accepted, preparation and approval of a work proposal will be required.

Minor works depend on resource capacity and funding. Any contribution to cover costs will be discussed with you in advance.
