Dr. Roslyn Sayers
Dr. Roslyn Sayers, PhD (Economics and Finance)
Roslyn’s academic career at RMIT is one of many firsts. Commencing study in 1997, Roslyn was part of the first cohort of students to undertake the Advanced Diploma of Business in International Trade.
In 1999, she was admitted to the new International Business degree with advanced standing due to pathways recognition of her prior learning at TAFE. Upon completion of her bachelor degree, Roslyn graduated with distinction and was subsequently offered a place in the first honours program offered by the business school, from which she later graduated with 1st class honours in 2002.
Consistent diligence throughout her tertiary studies resulted in Roslyn being offered an Australian Postgraduate Awards Scholarship to undertake her PhD. By the end of 2006, Roslyn had become the first student at RMIT University to go straight through from TAFE to PhD award level, having achieved all this within only nine years of study.
Roslyn’s RMIT story is one of dual sector university and career pathways success. “The opportunities to travel and complete a semester of my International Business degree in the Netherlands, has provided me with an amazing European network. Also having undertaken my Honours Degree as a work placement at Siemens allowed me access into the organisations after graduation, which has set up my career within Siemens and given me the pathway to the role I hold in Germany today”.
