As Exhibition Coordinator at RMIT Gallery since February 2014, Helen is responsible for the project management of all aspects of the exhibition program, including exhibition risk management and logistics and she works closely with the Gallery’s Installation and Technical Manager to deliver the installation of all exhibitions. In her role, she ensures the successful delivery of the gallery’s Australian and international exhibitions on time and on budget. Helen works closely with artists, organisational and government partners at a national and international level to develop mutually beneficial relationships and funding opportunities. Helen has extensive experience developing creative projects to the highest standard. From 2004¬2006 she worked at RMIT Gallery as Exhibition Coordinator, returning in 2009 as a consultant on RMIT Gallery’s distinct creative projects in India. Prior to joining RMIT Gallery she was Executive Director of Museums Australia (Victorian Branch) where she oversaw the management of the Branch’s diverse programs including the Museums Accreditation Program, Professional Development and Training and Touring Services. This built on her pervious role at MA (Vic) as Touring Services Manager where she managed a devolved grant from Arts Victoria and worked with museums and galleries across the state developing touring projects. Helen’s extensive industry experience includes positions at the National Screen and Sound Archive in Canberra and the Mornington Peninsular Regional Gallery, where she curated a number of complex exhibitions and authored catalogue essays. Her special areas of curatorial interest and expertise include contemporary Indian art, fashion and textiles.
