Heather Mallinson

Key activities

Heather has undertaken a variety of roles at RMIT University, including managing transnational education contracts, the Business Plan Competition, lecturing to Higher Education and TAFE students and being seconded to an international hotel group to develop their in-house learning framework. In her current role she is responsible for working across the University's three colleges and 24 schools to develop and maintain industry relationships and strengthen the University's industry engagement strategy particularly in the sectors of Media & Communications and Built Environment, Construction and Infrastructure.

In her career as a manager in the hospitality and tourism sector and later as an educator and researcher, she has worked in several international cities including London, Tokyo and Hong Kong. In these positions she developed extensive business networks and was responsible for negotiating and managing significant business contracts. Heather's broad experience and progression through various business and educational roles has provided her with a unique blend of experience, skills and knowledge that she applies to the challenges and opportunities presented by engaging industry with the global education sector.
