Sustainable Cities of the Future France Study Tour
Take two diverse cities, dissert them, compare them and then plan for a sustainable future.
Decide what a sustainable city or region of the future will look like by comparing two of the most liveable cities in the world, Bordeaux and Melbourne.
This elective study tour offered by the School of Civil, Environmental and Chemical Engineering will not only address the major issues of climate change and meeting sustainability criteria but it will also provide you with a foundation for multi-disciplinary involvement from various industry sectors.
In less than two centuries, Melbourne has become a bright star of the ‘new’ world with modern infrastructure spread out in one of the largest and sparsest urban networks in the world. In contrast Bordeaux has evolved over many centuries while still retaining a dense urban centre as a vibrant world focus.
This is an opportunity for you to not only experience and compare the social and technical attributes of two cities and two cultures but you also get to fast track your studies by completing these electives during the semester break.
Study tour commences 5 July and finishes on 16 July 2015.
Applications close 27 March 2015
