Explore your options to study and work in Asia with the New Colombo Plan funding.

RMIT and the Federal Government are committed to expanding your future opportunities with support for experiences in the Indo-Pacific Region. Generous funding is available for programs in Indonesia, China, Vietnam, Thailand and India.

To be eligible for New Colombo Plan funding you must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Bachelor Honours course at RMIT, an Australian citizen and between 18 – 28 years of age (some age exceptions may apply).

China

Program

Young Australian Ambassador Delegation (YAAD)

Description

The YAAD semester program in 2017 is now being hosted in five cities (eight institutions).

Dates

September to December

Undergraduate students from various disciplines can study a minimum of a full time load equivalent with one of the selected exchange partners under the YAAD program

Application deadline

15 April 2017 (1st group deadline: Nanjing University and Tianjin University)

15 May 2017 (2nd group deadline: all other universities)

Funding

Program

Semester Exchange

Description

Study a semester or two at one of our 7 partner institutions in China. (Students are encouraged to participate in the YAAD program.)

Many options for students studying Chinese language. Options available for students in English in areas such as Aerospace Engineering and Industrial Design.

Dates

Dates depend on the partner institution’s calendar. Generally semesters are: Feb/March - July and September - January.

Vietnam

Program

Semester Cross-campus studies

Description

Cross-campus study at RMIT Vietnam involves studying for one or two or even three semesters at the RMIT campuses in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. RMIT Vietnam offers diverse academic programs (that are all taught in English).

Semester 1 - Late February to late May

Semester 2 - Late June to late September

Semester 3 - Mid October to late January

Open to

Undergraduate students who have completed at least one semester of academic study at RMIT prior to applying for the program

Osteopathy Program

Description

RMIT 5th year osteopathic students have the opportunity this year to undertake a hands-on 4 week osteopathic placement in India as a recognised part of their clinical requirements.
