Open Universities Australia (OUA) students

Students enrolled in an Open Universities Australia unit originating from RMIT University can borrow materials from RMIT University Library and join CAVAL.

Not enrolled through RMIT University? You can join the Library as a fee-paying borrower.

How to register

You must register in person. To register, bring the following documents to the Library’s service desk:

  1. Your OUA student welcome letter, and
  2. Some form of photo identification (e.g. drivers license, passport)

We will issue you with a Special Borrower card.

Once you are registered as a Special Borrower, you can also join the CAVAL reciprocal borrowing scheme. Apply for a CAVAL card at the Library’s service desk.

With the CAVAL card, you can borrow items from other Victorian universities and TAFE/VET libraries that participate in the scheme.

You should receive a letter with your RMIT student number and password – this is your NDS login. Use it to access computers in the Library and Library e-resources (both on-campus and off-campus).

Library subject guides are excellent starting points for finding information.
