Key Activities

Mark Galer is Senior Lecturer in the School of Media and Communications. His responsibilities include full-time teaching on the BA Photography Program, third year coordinator and academic advisor. Mark is the course coordinator of six courses within the school including an online University elective and an Open University Australia course.

Industry Experience

Mark has a commercial background as a professional editorial photographer and takes a leading role in establishing and maintaining important associations with both commercial and industry leaders. Mark is an Ambassador for Adobe Systems and Sony Australia Limited attending industry conferences as a keynote presenter, trainer and public speaker. Mark is also a keynote speaker and awards judge for the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. Mark has innumerable publications including twenty-seven internationally published books translated into seven different languages and articles for the popular press. Mark maintains his own website, and writes podcasts and blogs which are available to all web users. This is an on-going commitment that Mark makes to offer education to any aspiring photographer, whether they are professionals or amateurs. Mark has also forged links with International Universities, many having adopted his curriculum guides for their students.
