Study rooms

Study and viewing rooms are available at each Library site. You can book them for group projects, discussions, presentations and viewing.


Rooms can be reserved using BookIt online booking system for a maximum of two hours per day, unless otherwise specified. There are no block or weekly bookings.

Brunswick Library

There are two group study rooms and a seminar room with seating for 20 people.

Bundoora and Bundoora East Libraries

Bundoora Library has eleven group study rooms divided between three floors. Two silent study rooms are located on Level 3.

The postgraduate room on Level 3 needs a key, which you can get from the service desk. Bookings are not required.

Bundoora East Library has two study rooms.

Carlton Library

There are two group study rooms and a seminar room with seating for up to 30 people.

The training room has 20 PCs. You can use it if there are no bookings. Four weeks before exams, we open this room to all students between 10 am and 2 pm, no bookings required.

Swanston Library

Swanston Library has many meeting and project rooms for group study on Levels 5 and 6.

Note: A small number of rooms are reserved during the day and then made available after 6 pm.

When using our rooms, please…

  • Leave the room clean and tidy
  • If there is an emergency or emergency drill, you must leave the room immediately.
  • Take all your belongings when you finish and don’t leave anything unattended. We will not be responsible if your personal items go missing.

RMIT staff please note that the Library rooms are not available as general teaching or meeting spaces. Property Services offers rooms you can book for these purposes.
