All staff are encouraged to see themselves as potential recipients of these awards.



Applications for RMIT Teaching awards open.

Contact your college coordinator to nominate a colleague, or to discuss your potential application.

Once nominated, you will be invited to submit an application to the college.

Note: Evidence of peer review is required by teachers who plan to apply for an individual RMIT Teaching Award.

Check Application Resources online and register for workshops for staff.

College coordinators are available to provide support with preparing an application and advise eligible staff of their internal selection processes and dates.


Submit all documents in electronic format (MS Word or PDF) directly to your college coordinator by no later than the date determined by your college.

Colleges conduct an internal selection process and select one nomination for each appropriate category or sub-category. The nominations will be endorsed by the Pro Vice-Chancellor Academic in each college and forwarded to the University Teaching Awards selection panel.


College coordinators submit applications to the Education portfolio.

Following the University Teaching Awards selection panel meeting, the chair of the selection panel will make recommendations as to the recipients of the award categories, then the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education reviews these recommendations with the Vice-Chancellor.
