Art U Wear $5000 competition

Can you create a wearable art costume that is iconic to Australia as Dame Edna?

This new competition creates the perfect opportunity for textile artists, designers, students and anyone with a love of this medium to show off what they can do.

The competition

Judy Newman, Craft Consultant at Expertise Events wants to know ‘What “Iconic Australia” means to you?’

Show them what you can do—be creative with your outfits. Outfits can be any interpretation of the theme ‘Iconic Australia’, as long as they are primarily textile material (more than 50 %).

You can enter as an individual as a group.

Prizes

Three winners will share in $5000 of prize money.

  • First prize: $2500 cash
  • Second prize: $1500 cash
  • Third prize: $1000 cash

Finalist pieces will be displayed from 1-3 May 2015 at FibreFest.

Have your outfits tour various craft events around Australia.

Entry forms available online 10 December 2014.

Deadline for entries is 10 April 2015.
