Brimbank City Council Scholarship

If you are a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (Honours) or Master of Urban Planning and Environment student, reside in the City of Brimbank, and can demonstrate disadvantage, this scholarship could provide financial assistance.

The scholarship provides up to $4000 as a one-off payment.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident
  • currently reside in the City of Brimbank
  • be enrolled full-time in either the:
    • Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning (Honours) (BH108), or
    • Master of Urban Planning and Environment (MC221)
  • be able to demonstrate financial and/or educational disadvantage such as:
    • receiving a government-tested low income benefit or having a Centrelink Health Care Card
    • having a long term medical condition or disability which impacts upon your study
    • experiencing difficult family circumstances
    • having relocated from interstate or rural/regional Victoria to study at RMIT
    • having been born overseas, being from a non-English speaking background and having recently migrated to Australia
    • are a current or former refugee
    • completed your secondary education at a School Network Access Program.

Supporting documentation

You will need to provide evidence to support your claims of hardship and/or disadvantage, and evidence that you reside in the City of Brimbank.

Application questions

You will need to prepare short answers (approximately 140 words) to the following questions:

  • What is your education and work experience?
  • What activities do you undertake that can show a measure of initiative and commitment in your academic and personal life? (ex. Part-time work, community involvement, voluntary work)
  • How will this scholarship assist you to achieve your academic and professional goals in the field of planning?
  • Nominate what you consider to be the main planning issue in the City of Brimbank. How do you suggest state and local governments address it?
