Fees payable for your research degree will depend on whether you are an international or domestic candidate.
If you are required to pay fees, you will be liable for every semester that you are enrolled until you submit for examination. If you have an approved leave of absence for a whole semester, you will not be liable for fees for that semester.
Most Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents and New Zealand citizens will be part of the Commonwealth Government Research Training Scheme (RTS) where your tuition costs are funded by the Australian Government.
International candidates within Australia
Fee information for international candidates based at RMIT's Melbourne campuses can be found in International fees and scholarships.
International candidates outside of Australia
Contact your School for detailed fee information for your program.
The student services and amenities fee (SSAF) is used to maintain and enhance services and amenities that improve your experience as an RMIT student. In addition to the SSAF there may be other expenses associated with your program.
Scholarships and grants
There are also several scholarships and grants available to support you during your candidature providing you the opportunity to pursue excellence in your research.
