Enrolment - getting more students online
As part of the Global Enrolments Project, the Academic Registrar’s Group (ARG) has been working in partnership with ITS via the Student Administration Agile Release Train (StAART) to get more students enrolling online.
Current systems allow online enrolment for most students, but there are still limitations that make it impossible for around 6,000 non-semester based students.
Following complex analysis and development, StAART delivered a ‘flexible enrolment’ solution and piloted it with ARG and two programs in the College of Science, Engineering and Health that have a monthly intake of students.
Fifty students have now successfully enrolled online for Certificate III in Dental Assisting and Certificate III in Plumbing, with a further forty expected to enrol online each month. It’s the first stage in delivering a more streamlined, consistent and automated enrolment process for all students – resulting in a better student experience and greater retention.
The team is now working to extend this solution to further programs and address more of the limitations preventing other groups of students from fully enrolling online. To find out more visit the StAART Google site.
