Indigenous Courtyard – Ngarara Place
Located near to Building 15, Ngarara Place is a significant new space to build the link between Indigenous diversity and the wider RMIT community. The space includes the following features: Indigenous themed courtyard area, leaf smouldering platform, Indigenous landscaping and artwork and a tiered informal seating area.
When you’re in the area, take some time to visit the courtyard.
Snooze Lounges have opened across our campuses: City (Building 80, Level 3, Room 13), Bundoora (Building 202, Level 2, Room 19) and Brunswick (Building 515, Level 1, Room 7). These spaces provide students with a safe space on campus to relax, recharge, chill-out or nap between 8am and 8pm. They are located in easily accessible places and are fitted out with comfortable beanbags and secure lockers. The lounges are open to all students via swipe card access and will include security surveillance.
Bundoora – public transport
Based on your feedback, we have been working with Public Transport Victoria (PTV) to make travelling to Bundoora campus easier for our students and staff. From 24 July 2016, PTV is introducing a few improvements to make local travel more efficient including more frequent bus services and new bus routes.
If you ride a motorcycle to campus, please use the new designated motorcycle parking areas. Don't forget to bring your own lock/chain to secure your motorcycle to the new in-ground hoops (except on City campus).
City: over 50 motorcycle bays are available in Building 91 car park.
Brunswick: 8 in-ground hoops in the motorcycle parking area near Building 514.
Bundoora West: 23 bays with in-ground hoops in the motorcycle parking area outside Building 210.
Bundoora East: 18 bays in the new motorcycle cage outside Building 253. Please register for swipe card access.
You'll need to register for a free motorcycle permit - registration instructions are on Parking on campus.
Building 51 Bike Hub
RMIT has converted a city car park in Building 51 into a secure Bike Hub with parking for over 400 bikes, 350 lockers, modern showers and change rooms and bike repair and tyre pump facilities. Students and staff are encouraged to use the great new facilities.
Bundoora East Recreation Area
RMIT has revitalised an under-utilised lawn area located in the heart of the Bundoora East campus to create a space for students and staff to collaborate, relax and engage in recreational activities. Features of the updated space include a flat lawn area for activities, a range of new seating options surrounded by both new and existing trees and additional landscaping to further enhance the area.
Bundoora East Basketball Courts
Adjacent to the newly landscaped and improved Bundoora East Recreation Area, two basketball courts have been developed at Bundoora East campus.
SUPP - Brunswick
Through the Sustainable Urban Precincts Program all buildings at Brunswick campus have been upgraded. This has led to significant benefits for the RMIT community including improved heating and cooling across campus. Annual savings resulting from the upgrade include: 31% emissions reduction, 21% electricity saving, 46% gas saving and 20% water saving.
