"Definitely go to Copenhagen for exchange. It is the best city in Europe."
RMIT Program: Bachelor of Communications (Media)
Global Program: Exchange
Destination: Denmark, Europe
I had always planned to go on exchange. I saw it as an extended period of time where I could immerse myself in another culture and another continent whilst furthering my education and gaining challenging and exciting life experiences. I think the best part for me was my host city itself, Copenhagen. I was lucky enough to be living in a beautiful apartment in an extremely beautiful part of town, and being there from August to February, I experienced the city in a range of its seasons.
The lifestyle in Copenhagen is one I fell into so easily. The scale of the city and the biking infrastructure meant that it was so easy and enjoyable to get around.
The food and drink scene (whilst sometimes expensive) was delicious and inviting. The Danish people were warm and friendly - despite me not speaking their language. I could definitely see myself going back to live in Copenhagen. I did my own travel before, during and after, destinations including Paris and Southern France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, the UK and Iceland - Iceland being other-wordly and incredible beyond words!
