Thomas Ryan, Exchange to Jonkoping International Business School, Sweden

On his exchange to Sweden in semester 1, 2014, Thomas made life long friends and experienced incredible nights and activities.

“Absolutely get involved, don't be shy. Don't always follow the pack - if there's something YOU want to do, do it!”

RMIT Program: Bachelor of Business Economics and Finance

Global Program: Exchange

Destination: Jönköping, Sweden

Thomas’s favourite thing about his semester exchange was the people he met and the friends he made. He ended up choosing Jönköping at random, and says he regrets nothing about his choice. The university was made up of roughly 50% international students, so it was easy for Thomas to meet new people in a similar situation to him. The student union at the university also organised a lot of activities to allow these friendships to grow.

During and after his semester exchange, Thomas made the most of being in Europe and explored many amazing cities. He describes his experience of exchange as “something impossible to explain in words, it's something that has to be experienced in person to understand.”
