Asia@RMIT – Thailand

Thailand Research

Known as Siam until 1939, The Kingdom of Thailand is located in the heart of South East Asia, bordered by Laos, Burma, Cambodia, and Malaysia. It is the only Southeast Asian country to evade colonisation by a European power.

The range of publications by RMIT researchers on Thai issues continues to expand, with projects including one looking at separatist violence and the retention of public sector employees in the south of the country, and another examining the Australia-Thai international relationship.
