Graduate Women Victoria scholarship winners

RMIT scholarship recipient with RMIT’s Deputy VC

Scholarship recipients Nicole, Jessica and Arimaya with Deputy Vice-Chancellor Gill Palmer.

Congratulations to three of our students who were recently awarded Graduate Women Victoria scholarships.

At the Victorian Graduate Women's 2015 Scholarship ceremony held 31 May, students Nicole Fausten, Jessica Findling and Arimaya Yates were presented with their certificate and cheques. Also present at the ceremony was our Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President, Professor Gill Palmer who was on hand to extend the University’s congratulations to the scholarship recipients.

Graduate Women Victoria is an association of women graduates advocating the advancement of women everywhere. Since 1931, the association has been awarding scholarships to Victorian women and continues to do so today through an annual program of scholarships and bursaries for women students enrolled in Universities in Victoria. These awards are made possible by the generosity of benefactors and members and as such scholarship offerings may change from year to year. Changes to the program are announced on its website in December.

This year our three students were awarded the following scholarships;

  • WISENET Bursary sponsored by Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, which will assist Nicole in preparing to teach science and maths
  • Bursary in Memory of Feminist Fathers, which will assist Jessica in her Masters by Research
  • Nancy Millis Bursary, which will assist Arimaya in completing her Master of Science (Nursing research). Read more about Arimaya’s story at Koori student wins Victorian Graduate Award.
