I moustache you a question. Will you join Team RMIT this Movember?

Movember is the month where men can grow and women can support the moustache (Mo) for thirty days to raise awareness and funds for men’s health—specifically prostate and testicular cancer, and mental health problems.

Since 2003, more than 576 million dollars have been raised by four million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas! These funds have been invested in education, research, awareness and survivorship programs. There are currently 832 programs being funded in 21 countries.

Movember is known as being one of the world’s largest leading non-government funders of research and care programs for men’s health issues.

Why you should take part?

Men, this is a chance for you to grow your moustache for a good cause! So you can be a walking, talking advertisement for men’s health—and women, why not encourage your man to grow his mo?

But Movember isn’t just for men. Behind every Mo is a Mo Sista. Mo Sistas are women who love a luscious moustache and are dedicated to supporting the cause. Movember wouldn’t be half-way where it is today without the love and care that comes from the Mo Sistahood.

By getting together with your family, friends or neighbours—you can build an effective campaign or network to unite the community by raising funds and creating awareness for men’s health!

How can you get involved?

Use your appearance and voice to spread the word about Movember this November—and encourage everyone to support your efforts and join in on all the hairy fun.

Plan a ‘Community Shave Down’ event on 1 November to create a fun opportunity to get others involved, so they can register and join as a team to be a part of Movember. Mid-month events, like BBQ’s and Friday drinks are a great way to keep people engaged and motivated! And of course don’t forget to finish the month by throwing a Mo Party or get your team together to attend one of Movember’s official Gala Partes held on 28 November 2014.

You can also support this movement by sending emails, making posters or posting newsletters to get the word out. Share your Mo stories, pictures, videos and infographics to promote men’s health.
