Key activities

1. Grant development

Fraser provides detailed feedback on competitive grant applications, focussing on compliance with rules and guidelines, how well the selection criteria have been addressed, presentation of track record and budget, and on general readability. He also assists researchers with interpreting funding scheme rules and guidelines.

2. Rewriting grants

Fraser will assist you rewrite a grant application for submission to a different funding scheme. He can use your application to write the first draft.

3. Finding funding opportunities

Contact Fraser if you would like him to search for funding opportunities for your project. He also searches funding databases to identify new funding opportunities, and communicates these to relevant researchers.

4. Seminars and workshops

Fraser runs seminars and workshops on funding schemes, and on using the COS-Pivot funding database.

5. Proofreading

Contact Fraser if you would like your manuscript checked for spelling and grammar before submission.

Fraser has over 20 years’ experience in research of the cardiovascular system, steroids and arthritis. He was lead investigator on a number of competitive grants including 3 NHMRC Project Grants, a Pfizer grant, and a National Heart Foundation Grant-in-Aid and Postdoctoral Fellowship. He has published in Nature and Nature Genetics.
