Luis Mata

Key activities

Dr Luis Mata is a postdoctoral researcher with the Interdisciplinary Conservation Science Research Group, in the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies.

Luis’ current work focuses on a City of Melbourne/RMIT funded research project aimed at estimating Melbourne’s insect biodiversity, quantifying the effects of urban greenspace type on insect diversity and identifying the associations between insects living in greenspaces and their host plants.

Luis also researches the golden sun-moth, a critically endangered species associated with grasslands.
