Job seeker referral instruction

Instruction statement

Job seekers undertaking training at certificates I-IV level are not required to pay tuition fees, as a result of funding arrangements agreed between the Commonwealth Government and the Victorian Government for the transfer of responsibility for delivery of the Productivity Places Program.

The fee exemption does not extend to any other fees, such as material fees. There are no age or other restrictions apart from the eligibility requirements that apply to government subsidised training under the Victorian Training Guarantee.

Students who do not meet the Victorian Training Guarantee eligibility criteria are unable to receive a fee exemption.

Access to fee exemptions is available until 31 December 2012. Job seekers who commence a course before this date will receive a fee exemption until they either complete or withdraw from the program. For job seekers who are indigenous, the fee exemption replaces the special tuition fee arrangements under the Indigenous Completions Initiative.

Exclusions

This instruction is only relevant to Certificate I-IV programs and excludes all other programs.
