Patrick Rebakis, Exchange to Glasgow Caledonian University, United Kingdom
Inspirational academic and lectures and travelling throughout Europe made for some extreme highs.
RMIT Program: Masters of Media
Global Program: Exchange
Destination: Glasgow, United Kingdom
"I had been on exchange to The Netherlands before and it was the best thing since sliced bread. I wanted to go again.
The people, the sights, the classes, the nights out and the travel - bundle it all together for a great experience.
Experience is something everybody talks about. It’s an all-in-one term that perfectly describes going on exchange. No doubt there are extreme highs and lows, but for the most part it’s almost too awesome to explain. Everyone goes through an adjustment period with culture shock and homesickness but it all passes with time.
I studied some awesome classes, most notably sport & the media as well as music & the media. These were two really dynamic classes with great academics. These inspirational academics helped me understand what I wanted to do with my career and really appreciated our international perspective on the subjects.
I travelled to many places including Ireland, England, Morocco, Germany, Spain and Portugal, and spent almost every weekend travelling around different parts of Scotland."
