Future-proofing data storage

ITS is bringing our existing infrastructure up to speed, creating a foundation that’s designed to take RMIT’s data storage capabilities to the next level.

We’ll be relocating our data storage facilities and creating a space that is fit-for-purpose and scaleable for longer term demands. It will greatly improve our ability to introduce new storage services and deliver operational maintenance into the future.

Once the storage relocation activities are complete, further work will commence on consolidating our storage platforms, upgrading end-of-life facilities and streamlining our data back-up performance.

For RMIT staff and researchers it means there will be more storage space available for backing up data and critical information. The benefits will include storage software features for creating flexible volumes, snapshots and data duplication capabilities.
