PhD Scholarship in Structural Engineering
We seek a PhD Student to work on an Australian Research Council (ARC) funded Linkage project titled “Reinforced Crumbed Rubber Concrete for Residential Construction.”
The PhD will be involved in research in the area of structural engineering with emphasis use of recycled materials in concrete. The project is in collaboration with University of South Australia and industry partners TSA, FMG, Engineering, Ancon Beton, Tyrecycle and RescoureCo.
In particular, the PhD student will undertake experimental investigation into the bond behaviour of steel bars embedded in crumb rubber concrete, considering durability issues and develop bond-slip interface laws and structural analysis methods for residential concrete structural elements.
Value and duration
$25,000 per year for three years.
Number of scholarships available
Applicants with an honours degree or graduates with a research Masters in experimental and/or analytical work with a civil engineering background are invited to apply.
Capabilities in mathematical modelling, experimental analysis and report writing are essential.

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident
- meet RMIT’s entry requirements for the Doctor of Philosophy
- meet the minimum eligibility requirements for a research scholarship
