Operating model update

As most of you would be aware, ITS is implementing a new operating model that’s designed to drive our future direction.

The realignment means we’ll be moving from a traditional IT shop structure to one that focuses on value streams and end-to-end accountability.

Six new leadership positions are being established: a CTO responsible for systems architecture, a director of the office of the CIO who will oversee program and vendor management, and a CISO in charge of shaping the security of our information, processes, systems and technologies. We'll also be appointing three directors of technology, each responsible for a portfolio that covers learning, teaching and research; university operations; and the student lifecycle.

The new structure will ensure ITS is better positioned to identify innovation and emerging technologies, oversee options for execution and drive program delivery. The leadership team will report directly to the CIO.

The new operating model will commence on 14 September, with the leadership team to be announced shortly.
