Managing your Enrolment
Students are responsible for ensuring their managing their enrolment details. It is important that you keep your enrolment details up to date and notify the university of any change to your circumstances. We will not contact you often but when we do it is likely to be important.

Change of Personal Details
Current students can update personal details such as address and telephone information by using the Enrolment Online (EOL) system. It is important to make sure your mailing address is always up-to-date so you can receive important communication from RMIT University and the Business Research Office.
Go to www.rmit.edu.au/myrmit and log in using your RMIT ID and password.
Change of Status
For information about change of enrolment status please refer to item 6.1 in the Higher degrees by research - Candidature procedure.
In order to change study mode (from full-time to part-time or vice versa), current students need to provide a letter or an email explaining the reasons for the change with supporting signatures or emails from their Senior Supervisor and Deputy Head Research. An Enrolment Variation Form (EVF) should also be submitted to the Business Research Office School Administrator before the HECS Census date of a given Semester.Candidates will be able to view their revised thesis or project submission date through the research candidature summary tab on myRMIT.
Please note that full-time students in receipt of scholarships should contact their scholarship administrator before submitting an application to change to part time.
Leave of Absence
A student is normally permitted leave of absence for up to 12 months during the entire program provided they have approval from their School. Please refer to 6.4 in the Higher degrees by research - Candidature procedure for more specific guidelines.
An application for Leave of Absence beyond 12 months or prior to confirmation of candidature (only granted in exceptional circumstances) must include a letter or emails from the candidate explaining reasons for leave of absence and supporting signatures from the Senior Supervisor and the Deputy Head Research authorising the leave of absence. A Leave of Absence form should also be completed and sent to the Business Research Office School Research Administrator before the HECS Census date of a given Semester. Applications for Leave of Absence beyond 12 months or prior to confirmation of candidature require recommendation for approval by the School and College. The approval body for these applications is the Graduate Research Committee (GRC).
Candidates will be able to view their revised thesis or project submission date through the research candidature summary tab on myRMIT.
Cancellation of Enrolment
Students may cancel their enrolment by filling out a cancellation of enrolment form (available from the Hub – Building 12, Level 4, 394 Swanston Street, www.rmit.edu.au/students/hub or student records) and returning it to their Business Research Office School Administrator or the Hub for processing.
Enrolment (and Re-enrolment)
As a current student it is your responsibility to re-enrol through the EOL system during the specified re-enrolment period (generally from early November to mid December for the following year) in any given year. Failure to do so will result in a late re-enrolment fee and an application for late re-enrolment will then need to be submitted.
The Enrolment Online (EOL) system can also be used to update personal details such as addresses and telephone numbers.

It is the candidate’s responsibility to check their student email account regularly as this will be used as a primary means of communication for items such as progress reporting and re-enrolment. Please note that it is possible to change the preferences on your student email account in order to have all email forwarded to another selected account.
