Integrating courses in Engineering Programs using a project based approach for enhancing work integrated learning.
Summary of the project, outcomes, impacts and dissemination
Project-based work integrated learning improved and enhanced student learning outcomes. It facilitated improved interactions between teachers involved in teaching the various courses in the Associate Degree Program. As the project involved work integrated learning it strengthened industry links and improved employability rates in the industry sector. This facilitated the process of continuous improvement of teaching and learning quality, and benefited both the teachers and the students. Through a collaborative action research methodology which has a potential to link theory and practice, we have effectively utilised the overall teaching time for the program, and we expect to deliver high quality engineering programs.
