Laura Stolle, Exchange from TU Munich, Germany

Laura chose RMIT because it had the best courses on offer for her degree (power engineering).

“Great student life, good studies and a great location!”

Home Institution: TU Munich

Home Degree/ Program: Power Engineering

Global Program: Exchange, Semester 2 2014

Laura appreciated the great student community at RMIT, in particular the free barbeque held every week on campus where she got to meet international and local students alike. She also thought the location of RMIT was very convenient, located in the centre of Melbourne, she could explore the city and go out after classes.

Laura found the teaching style different at RMIT, with more assignments and tests throughout semester, which meant she had to study less for her last exam as she had been working up to it all semester. Despite concentrating on her studies, Laura also found time to explore Australia, including Philips Island, Mornington Peninsula, Great Ocean Road, Grampians, and also Darwin. She also plans to explore the west coast and New Zeland when semester ends. Something Laura didn’t expect about Australia was just how clear the stars were at night!
