Paperless forms for students
As part of the Global Enrolments Project, the Academic Registrar’s Group (ARG) has been working in partnership with ITS via the Student Administration Agile Release Train (StAART) to convert high-volume paper-based forms to online forms.
The starting point is the student leave of absence application.
ITS has developed an online application for students with the functionality to attach supporting documents and track the application status. Built-in workflow capability streamlines the assessment process and automated communications keep students and assessors informed of progress.
The College of Business is currently piloting the online application, with more than 100 student applications submitted and assessed in the first week alone.
For students, it eliminates the need to visit a campus to manage their application, whilst reduced manual handling for staff means faster turnaround times, quicker student responses and fewer enquiries. Plans are underway to roll out to more students and colleges during 2016 and extend the solution to more paper-based forms.
