Cyber security education ramps up
In response to the growing rate of cyber security attacks occurring globally, the Chief Information Security Office (CISO) team is embarking on a three year Security Uplift and Risk Reduction program that aims to improve security practices and culture across RMIT.
Recent collaboration with Human Resources has resulted in a dedicated cyber security induction module being produced for all RMIT staff. The objective is to ensure existing and commencing staff engage in simple security practices that have proven effective in preventing common attacks and data breaches.
The CISO team will also be running a series of cyber security roadshows for staff groups, addressing security topics that are relevant to individuals’ roles. The presentations will commence with highest priority areas and extend through to all portfolios, schools and colleges by the end of this year.
It’s a significant step forward in the ongoing protection of our reputation, systems and resources.
