Asia@RMIT – Japan

Japan Research

Situated in northeastern Asia between the North Pacific and the Sea of Japan, the state of Japan is comprised of four major islands, surrounded by more than 4,000 smaller islands. The local names for Japan are Nippon and Nihon, both meaning "the sun's origin" and are often translated as the Land of the Rising Sun.

RMIT based research focusing on Japan ranges from a project examining strategic decision-making in Japanese trading companies, to a project investigating spatial traditions in Japanese landscape architecture design.
