Kick start your career before you graduate with support and advice from an industry mentor.

Register today and you’ll be partnered with an experienced professional for one-on-one guidance in your future industry.

There are different mentoring options to suit your career goals and circumstances. You can sign up all year round and each mentoring cycle lasts for 12 weeks.

Network and learn from a professional already working in your chosen field and for strategies and tips to get your career successfully underway.

About the mentors

Our mentors come from a variety of private, public sector and not-for-profit organisations and have management and leadership experience. Many mentors are RMIT alumni who have had a similar RMIT experience as you and all are dedicated industry professionals who have volunteered to support future entrants into their industry.

You will be matched with a suitable mentor with the relevant experience to offer support that is specific to your career goals.

Career Mentoring

Career mentoring Singapore

Melbourne-based students get support from industry professionals to explore their career options in Australia or offshore, especially in South-East Asia.

Time commitment and program length:

A minimum of one hour per month for 12 weeks.

Start date:

Registrations are welcome throughout the year.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate and postgraduate students in their penultimate or final year from all programs are eligible to apply.

Career Mentoring – Singapore

Career mentoring Singapore

Undergraduate students from Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) get career guidance specifically for the Singapore job market from Singapore-based mentors.

Time commitment and program length:

A minimum of one hour per month for 12 weeks.

Start date:

Registrations are welcome throughout the year.

Eligibility:

All penultimate and final year undergraduate SIM students studying the following are eligible to apply:

  • management
  • economics and finance
  • accountancy
  • marketing
  • professional communication and communication design
  • logistics and supply chain management.

Pride Mentoring

Pride mentoring

Students who identity as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer (LGBTIQ) or questioning get personal and professional guidance from LGBTIQ professionals from a range of industries.

Time commitment and program length:

A minimum of one hour per month for 12 weeks.

Start date:

Registrations are welcome throughout the year.

Eligibility:

Melbourne-based undergraduate and postgraduate students who identify as LGBTIQ or are questioning their sexual or gender identity from all programs are welcome to apply.

Women@RMIT Mentoring

Women@RMIT Mentoring

Female students in engineering, IT, property construction and management programs get career insights from mentors to help identify and navigate any gender biases in their future industry.

Time commitment and program length:

A minimum of one hour per month for 12 weeks.

Start date:

Registrations are welcome throughout the year.

Eligibility:

Melbourne-based female undergraduate and postgraduate students in their penultimate or final year from all engineering, IT, property construction and management programs are welcome to apply.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mentoring

Aboriginal Torres Strait islander mentoring@RMIT Mentoring

Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students get support from industry professionals on general and/or cultural career guidance.

Time commitment and program length:

A minimum of one hour per month for 12 weeks.

Start date:

Registrations are welcome throughout the year.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate and postgraduate Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from all programs are eligible to apply.
