Course Description

Organisations are increasingly acknowledging mobile solutions as part of their business activities due to the ubiquity and ever increasing computational power and functionalities of mobile devices. In this course, you will build on your information systems development skills to implement mobile solutions to address a variety of business issues.

On successful completion of this course you will be able to:

  1. Apply theoretical and technical knowledge of mobile information systems to facilitate and support business practice.
  2. Select and apply various tools and techniques to effectively implement mobile information systems.

  3. Respond to issues and challenges faced by businesses in relation to mobile information systems and generate a range of potential solutions.
  4. Select appropriate mobile information systems solutions to address specific business issues.

Overview of Learning Activities

Learning activities include lectures, tutorials and student-directed study. Lectures include theory on a wide range of topics relevant to information systems and business. Tutorials are designed to provide you with practical skills in developing information systems.

In addition to topic notes; assessment details and a study schedule you may also be provided with links to relevant online information; readings; audio and video clips and communication tools to facilitate collaboration with your peers and to share information.
