Course Description

Identifies essential research and investigative methodologies and processes and develops the skills required to prepare, undertake and report problem or opportunity based research and investigation.

Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

Identifies essential research and investigative methodologies and processes and develops the skills required to prepare, undertake, and report formal problem based research and investigation. Note: The development of an acceptable proposal in this course is a prerequisite for enrolment in the Engineering Management Project (manu1063) course.

Capabilities

1. Develop skills in problem definition and conceptualisation, investigation and analysis.
2. Develop skills in proposal preparation and writing
3. Understand and apply the range of methodologies, techniques and strategies available for undertaking effective research and investigation
4. Develop communication and introduction skills commensurate with the preparation and presentation of formal research/investigative reports.
