Course Description

This module explores group dynamics, including the formation and maintenance of teams. It develops skills in managing group dynamics and establishing various forms of effective work teams.


Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

This module will develop the ability to manage innovation and change through the behaviour, attitudes and values of work groups.


Expected learning outcomes:
• Awareness of personal contributions to group dynamics
• An understanding of various theories of group dynamics
• Familiarity with specific group issues including power, authority, roles, leadership, tasks and structure
• Understanding of the concept of self-management within work teams
• Exploration of individual, group and organisational dynamics and their interplay through an experiential laboratory
• Ongoing personal growth in line with the ISM Program objectives and personal learning contracts
• Ongoing development of communication and team skills within the learning community.
