Course Description

This subject is designed to allow students the flexibility to pursue an interest in their field of study that is not being offered as a ’taught course’. The application of workplace research and commissioned research can be pursued through this subject.

Self-Directed research under the supervision of an allocated supervisor.


Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

For this course, students determine their own objectives. An agreement between the supervisor and the student should be reached about student learning outcomes and the project is essentially self-initiated and student-directed.

Overview of Learning Activities

This course allows students to investigate critically a topic in education (or other related field) approved in consultation with the Course Coordinator. The investigation is to be described in a paper of approximately 8,000 words with assessment standards of the paper to be negotiated with the course coordinator.
