Course Description

International Management Project B is the continuation of IMP A, and involves a cross-national team of MBA(IM) students completing a research project in international management.


Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

The capabilities to conduct original research and work in a cross-national project team are developed.


Objectives:

1) To continue IMPA research by implementing empirical work with appropriate analysis and conclusions.

2) To document the research findings in the form of a paper of publishable quality.

3) To encourage students to disseminate the research findings as an article in a recognised journal or as a paper at a conference or seminar.

4) To learn about the process of working with a team of fellow researchers from different countries over a two-year period.


Overview of Learning Activities

The learning task is to work in the established teams to complete the research begun in IMP A.

IMP B requires students to continue their membership of the team that was formed in IMP A. The team has the responsibility for continuing the work done in IMP A. Specifically, the team has to refine and further develop the work done in IMP A, and produce a 5000 word Final Report of publishable quality.

Overview of Assessment

Each team will be required to submit a 5000 word Final Report or article of publishable quality. The report should provide a comprehensive description and analysis of the researched topic. The naming sequence will be in surname-alphabetical order. A reviewer will assess the article and a grade will be recorded. The Course Coordinator or their nominee will be the reviewer. The grade will be the same for all members of the team.
