Pre-requisite Courses and Assumed Knowledge and Capabilities

Melbourne

The first two years of your program (or equivalent) should normally be successfully completed before you are eligible to undertake Information Systems: Work Integrated Learning 1. You should also be enrolled in Information Systems: Work Experience in Industry 1 concurrently.

Vietnam

The first four semesters of your program (or equivalent) should normally be successfully completed before you are eligible to undertake INTE2438 Information Systems - Work Integrated Learning 1. You should also be enrolled in INTE2445 Information Systems - Work Experience in Industry A.


Course Description

In this course, you will apply your academic learning to a contemporary workplace situation, integrating work and learning on two levels:

  • integration of previous and current learning in courses completed in your program of study to date; and,
  • integration of previous and current learning in the workplace as part of the Co-operative Education year.

On completion of this course you should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate an enhanced understanding of the world of work and a first hand, practical appreciation of current business issues;
  2. Employ discipline-specific knowledge and skills to analyse a workplace issue;
  3. Set professional goals and manage time appropriately;
  4. Communicate an understanding of the challenges of a real world business environment;
  5. Work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds;
  6. Develop employability skills, and become work-ready.

The learning activities in this course will be related to your experiences and work undertaken as a part of your placement and outlined in your learning plan.
You will undertake a number of assessment tasks related to these experiences and receive feedback.
