To qualify for entry into this course you need an undergraduate degree in a relevant area or substantial industry experience in a relevant field.

Course Description

In this course you will gain a broad theoretical and historical understanding of your field of study. You will develop an understanding of how your work will be influenced by a critical investigation of the histories and theories in your chosen field and in turn how your work may influence and contribute to the body of knowledge.

Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:
• interpret your field of study via rigorous theoretical and historical study
• apply skills of analysis, reflection and critical thinking
• apply independent thought and action within your chosen field.

Overview of Learning Activities

You will gain familiarity with the theoretical and critical issues pertaining to your field of study based on lectures, tutorials, site/venue visits and presentations.

Overview of Learning Resources

Learning resources will include set readings and industry guest speakers.

Overview of Assessment

This course aims to embed learning through practical activities and assessment tasks. Assessment may then include specific project work, folios of work (summative or formative), and/or other presented material.
