• Web, FTP and Print Servers
• Backup and Disaster Recovery

Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development

You will gain or improve capabilities in:
• Installing, configuring and administering network operating system
• Remote administration using network operating systems
• Connecting client computers to the network
• Configuring active directory service and servers
• Monitoring performance and optimisation
• Disaster recovery and troubleshooting


On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Install and configure network operating system
• Connect clients computers to servers
• Create and manage user and group accounts
• Manage access to shared resources by using groups
• Monitor and optimise performance of network operating system
• Provide network access to file resources
• Monitor event logs to gather information about system operations.
• Install active directory service
• Configure Web, FTP and Print Servers
• Remotely administer servers or client computers
• Troubleshooting the boot process problem
• Perform backup and disaster recovery

You will also use laboratory equipment and computer software within the School during project and assignment work.
