Course Description
This course will build skills and knowledge for applying design theory and techniques to the development, implementation and optimisation of business practice. The course will use design theory and the design lifecycle coupled with design thinking to build skills in analysing production flows, improving process and measuring change.
A range of business scenarios (small business and marketing) will be used to explore and apply the techniques taught in this program. Project based work will allow you to use the skills and knowledge developed in an immediate and active way.

On successful completion of this course you will be able to:
- Evaluate and explain the key theories of business design concepts in contemporary organisations.
- Creatively apply design thinking to solve business problems.
- Develop a capacity to undertake ongoing design thinking while conceiving, communicating and presenting ideas
- Use reflective techniques to improve future practice in business design.
Overview of Learning Activities
In this course you will be encouraged to be an active learner. Your learning will be supported through various in-class and online activities comprising individual and group work. These may include quizzes; assignments; prescribed readings; sourcing, researching and analysing specific information; solving problems; conducting presentations; producing written work and collaborating with peers on set tasks or projects.
