Course Description
This course describes the knowledge and skills required to provide leadership in the practice of one or more disciplines in the community sector. The leadership role includes the development and promotion of effective and where appropriate innovative approaches to achieving outcomes for clients, providing practice supervision of other practitioners and influencing policy and system change. The skills described in this course may be applied across a range of community sector workplace contexts.

Details of Learning Activities
You will be involved in learning activities in a day long workshop. Activities will include group discussions, critique of reading material and self-reflection exercises. Reflecting on your own work context is a significant aspect of this course, and you will be given opportunities during the workshop to discuss and think about your practice.

Assessment for this course is based on workplace observation.
Assessment Tasks
For this course the program coordinator or one of the facilitators will visit you in your work place and conduct a workplace interview and observation. You will be asked a number of questions that will allow you to demonstrate competency for this unit. Visits will be arranged with each student individually.
Assessment Matrix
The assessment matrix demonstrates alignment of assessment tasks with the relevant Unit of Competency. These are available from the Program Coordinator. This program in delivered in accordance with competency-based assessment, grades include:
