Course Description

In this course you will develop the skills and knowledge to participate in travel independently, learning how to access the most appropriate modes of travel and be confident in travel situations.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this course you will have developed the following skills concerning participation in travel:

- communication skills to participate in planning and implementing travel plans independently including communicating intentions and plan to support personnel

- communication skills to ask questions, listen for specific information and read timetables, destinations names and maps

- problem solving skills and strategies to resolve problems that may arise when undertaking travel

- self management skills to allow sufficient time to undertake planned travel and to monitor and adjust a plan as appropriate

- planning and organisation skillsso as to successfully plan and undertake travel

- teamwork skills to work with others to develop and review travel plans

- numeracy skills to recognise money and calculate fares

- numeracy skills to read the time (digital and analogue), and to calculate time taken to travel
