Learning Outcomes
This unit requires the application of skills associated with self management to apply quality system instructions when performing a range of production tasks. Team work and communication skills are also required to understand impact of own work activities on others in the production process. This unit also requires an ability to apply problem solving skills, initiative and enterprise to identify and investigate faults or inconsistencies in work quality. Learning skills are required to continuously assess own work against required outcomes and gain the skills and knowledge required in order to meet quality standards.

Blended learning consisting of classroom activities and practical workshop.
Teaching Schedule
During weeks 15 – 18 Semester 1 2009
Sessions for Apply Quality Standards will be delivered as part of practical workshops that include the development of different components of footwear production. Classes will include demonstration and theory based activities required to be undertaken when Applying Quality Standards in a workplace environment. The application of quality standards will be carried out during a range of practical tasks being undertaken by students.

Overview of Assessment
Tasks that have not be authenticated in class as the student’s own work will not be considered for assessment. Regular attendance is necessary. Assessment will consist of both theory and practical based exercises, predominantly in class but some out of class research and information formatting is required as well.
You will be given further information about the assessment tasks in class.
Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1:
Written Identification of a range of Quality standards, appropriate for footwear production, and the required measurements of these standards.
Assessment Task 2
Practical demonstration by students, that quality checks have been undertaken on their footwear components currently being produced in program. Results of quality checks and any quality issues that need addressing are appropriately recorded.
